Rotary Wing Hot Pit JP-8 Remediation Site

The Rotary Wing Hot Pit JP-8 Remediation Site was the result of an accidental discharge of approximately 75,000 gallons of JP-8 from the Rotary Wing Hot Pit at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma. Through multiple subcontracts, NEI was involved with the project from the initial release discovery through clean closure. NEI's work included the delineation and characterization of the JP-8 plume; the design, installation and operation of free product recover and soil vapor extraction systems; and regulatory reporting. NEI's work on this project resulted in a closed site within 10 years of initial release.
