Description: This project, designed by NEI involved the complete reconstruction, realignment and widening of 24th Street to a 5-Lane Major Arterial Thoroughfare from the East Main Canal to Avenue B. Plans included a complete design of median islands, storm drain system, signalization and property acquisition for the right-of-way. Major design and study factors in this project are: 5-Lane Arterial design with raised medians at Avenue B and East Main Canal, Avenue B Intersection Redesign, Street Drain System, Bridge widening over East Main Canal, street lighting, traffic devices and relocation of utilities at Avenue B, signalization of 18th Avenue and 24th Street, complete hydrological and hydraulic analysis and design, bike lanes on each side of the street.
