Description: This facility, comprised of 2 new buildings and an existing building, houses both Public Works and Materials Management divisions in more than 40,000 SF. Designed as part of a City Superblock, this facility's design program required coordination with the architectural team of additional new City buildings in proximity and with City Development Services. The project had to be designed to allow both buildings to be built on the same site as the existing facility, which was then demolished upon completion of the new buildings. The facility contains offices, restrooms, and staff showers, several conference and meeting rooms, a sign shop, employee lounge, a warehouse and public art display areas. Professional services included civil engineering, surveying, materials testing, planning, mechanical, electrical and structural engineering, landscape architecture, and contract administration.
